From Luxury to Local: My Brik Bag Revelation

For most of my life, handbags have been synonymous with luxury. Growing up, I was surrounded by the beautiful bags my mom carried—Louis Vuitton, Prada and the likes. To me, they were more than just accessories, they are heirlooms in the making, designed to be passed down to the next generation.

But then, I decided to take a leap of faith and try something new. Enter Brik, a local brand that caught my eye. My first purchase was the Chroma in Ruby and I was genuinely surprised by its quality and unique design.

I quickly found myself drawn to the Upsized Chroma in Black and the Petite Chroma in Macchiato. I am now a proud owner of 3 Brik handbags. The fact that these bags are made from scratch resistant polyurethane is a total game changer for someone like me, who tends to toss things around without a second thought. I can now carry them without worrying about wear and tear, which is a small but significant relief.

What really struck me about the Chroma Collection is its originality—actual originality! Their designs can’t be found on Taobao, I know because I’ve tried looking for it. The same can’t be said for a particular local brand though but that’s another story for another time. It’s honestly refreshing to support a local brand that values creativity and quality over making a quick buck by coppying other brands. You know the ones shamelessly copying designs from luxury labels and then charging an arm and a leg for the privilege of owning a cheap imitation. It’s like they think slapping a ridiculous price tag on their cheaply and poorly made knockoffs somehow elevates them to the status of “exclusive.” Newsflash: It doesn’t! You know which brand I’m talking about.

I find myself looking forward to what Brik will come up with next. It’s a pleasure to support a local business that values originality and craftsmanship. Who knew that stepping outside my comfort zone could lead to such a gratifying experience? Sometimes, the best surprises come from where you least expect them and for that, I am truly grateful.
